Baseball Recap: Heide Trask Comes Up Short

Heide Trask was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-4 to the East Columbus Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 last Monday.

Namon Holly was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kasem Scarlett, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Heide Trask's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for East Columbus, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Coming up, Heide Trask will take on Fairmont at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Columbus, they will challenge Purnell Swett at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
