Baseball Recap: Case Victorious

Case proved they can win big on Friday (they won by nine) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Diman RVT Bengals, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since April 10th.

Lucas LaFlame tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jett Vadeboncoeur, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Case is undefeated when Vadeboncoeur posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Sale, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Case's record is now 9-7. As for Diman RVT, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Coming up, Case will challenge Bourne at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals are facing the Canalmen at the right time seeing as the Canalmen are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Diman RVT, they will face off against Bristol-Plymouth RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
