Softball Preview: Sulligent Blue Devils vs. West Morgan Rebels
The Sulligent Blue Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the West Morgan Rebels at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. West Morgan took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Sulligent, who comes in off a win.
Sulligent had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Red Bay on Thursday. The Blue Devils blew past the Tigers 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kallie Taylor made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.

Meanwhile, West Morgan unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Lawrence County, falling 9-3.
Sulligent's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for West Morgan, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-20-1.
