Blue Springs South took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on the Liberty North Eagles with a sharp 49-28 victory. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 21-20 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Blue Springs South didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cy Wilmes and Blayne Marshall. Blue Springs South got some further help from Parker Hunt: he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

When it comes to explaining why Liberty North lost, don't look at Zemar Cheatam. Despite the final result, he rushed for 85 yards and three TDs. Cheatam got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 50 yards.

Blue Springs South has already played their next contest, a 44-21 victory against Park Hill South on the 5th. As for Liberty North, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 38-22 defeat against Liberty on the 5th.
