Basketball Recap: Colorado Academy Drops Season-High Score on Stargate School

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Colorado Academy). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging an 83-54 win over the Stargate School Eagles. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Colorado Academy had a senior duo take command as Clyde Love went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and River Hamm went 9 of 12 from beyond the arc to rack up 29 points. Thanks to that strong game, Love now owns an excellent 40.7% three-point shooting accuracy. Teddy Hardy also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Colorado Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

When it comes to explaining why Stargate School lost, don't look at Hunter Roark. Despite the final result, he posted 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Roark is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aldo Enriquez, who had eight points.

Colorado Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Stargate School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Colorado Academy and Stargate School could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. Colorado Academy (ranked 61st) will meet Peak to Peak (ranked 15th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Stargate School will face off against Forge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 112 places (143 vs. 31).
