Softball Game Preview: Goddard Rockets vs. Lovington Wildcats

Goddard is 0-10 against Lovington since April of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Rockets will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Lovington took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Goddard, who comes in off a win.

Goddard took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Portales, sneaking past 9-7. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Lovington faced Artesia in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wildcats came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since March 8th.

Lovington's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7. As for Goddard, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
