Baseball Game Preview: Sheridan Blackhawks vs. Elwood Panthers

The Sheridan Blackhawks will square off against the Elwood Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sheridan will be strutting in after a win while Elwood will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Sheridan turned things around against Clinton Central on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Elwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Frankton, falling 16-6.

Jace Reese made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Liam Cannon also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Elwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Sheridan, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-9.
