Basketball Recap: New Town Takes a Loss

New Town suffered their biggest loss since December 6, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the Springdale Prep Lions, falling 59-38.

Springdale Prep was led to victory by Anya Neufeld and Sam Poole 2026. Neufeld dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Poole 2026 went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Neufeld a new career-high in blocks (five). Another player making a difference was Zing Yinpobil, who posted six points and ten rebounds.

New Town now has a losing record at 5-6-1. As for Springdale Prep, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-13.

New Town didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-12 win against Kenwood on the 13th. As for Springdale Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 76-43 victory against Carroll Christian on the 13th.
