Volleyball Recap: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest Takes a Loss

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the McAllen Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-19, 25-15.

McAllen found their leader in sophomore Gabriella Saenz, who had nine digs and six assists.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 0-21. As for McAllen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-13.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest and McAllen could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Javelinas will take on Sharyland at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (1218 vs. 387). Meanwhile, McAllen (ranked 245th) will meet Pioneer (ranked 103rd) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
