Baseball Recap: Mott Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sterling Heights on Friday, Mott came back down to earth. The Marauders came up short against the Clawson Trojans on Wednesday, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-9 back in April.

Dustin Mayfield made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Mott's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Clawson, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mott will take on Clintondale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clawson, they will square off against Fitzgerald at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
