Recap: Maple Valley Lions vs. Saranac Redhawks

The Maple Valley Lions had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Saranac by a score of 57-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Maple Valley also won the last time the pair played back in March.

Leading Maple Valley to victory were Jake McDonald and Ayden Wilkes . McDonald dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Wilkes scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilkes has scored at least 25% of Maple Valley's points. Noah Musser was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.

Maple Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Saranac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maple Valley will challenge Lansing Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saranac's road trip will continue as they head out to face Potterville at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th.
