Northeast Ohio league recap: 5/21/12

Drew Teller was the best pitcher in Northeast Ohio this week, leading Mayfield. He won one game and struck out six batters.

The Wildcats (23-4, 8-2) have won six games in a row, the league's longest active win streak. In the past week, Mayfield won another two games, including a 5-4 victory over Mentor. Mitch Longo led the Wildcats' offense with two hits and one RBI this week.

Mayfield's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing one hits and one walks to lead the league in both categories. The Wildcats have given up a mere 124 hits on the year, while striking out 150 opposing hitters. Matt Iosue is the leader in that category with 64 Ks on the season.
