Wray hasn't had much luck against Wiggins recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. The last three games Wray has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Wray and Caliche have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 3-2.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Wray sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 17-25, 25-16, 21-25, 15-12.
Meanwhile, Wiggins waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Dragons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since November 14, 2024.
Wiggins wouldn't go down easily and took Holyoke into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 23-25, 20-25, 15-9.
Wray better keep an eye on Saria Hawkins. She was instrumental in Wiggins' win, getting ten digs and three aces.
Wiggins' victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Wray, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
Wray suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Wiggins in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
