Basketball Recap: Jackson Christian Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

St. Philip Catholic Central came into Monday's game looking for another win against Jackson Christian, but Rennie Huff wouldn't allow it. The Jackson Christian Royals claimed a resounding 56-22 win over the St. Philip Catholic Central Fighting Tigers thanks to Huff, who went 11-for-23 on her way to 31 points along with five boards and five steals. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Jackson Christian's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Boll, who posted eight points in addition to 17 rebounds and four blocks. That's the most boards she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Jackson Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points over those games. As for St. Philip Catholic Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Coming up, Jackson Christian will square off against Hillsdale Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Philip Catholic Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Athens at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Philip Catholic Central is facing Athens at the right time seeing as Athens is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
