Basketball Recap: Ryan Murray's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tomales over Anderson Valley

Tomales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Anderson Valley Panthers. The Braves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 57-31.

Tomales' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Murray, who dropped a double-double on 11 boards and ten blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Flores, who posted ten points along with six steals and five assists.

Tomales' loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Anderson Valley, their victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-14.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Point Arena the next time they take the court. Tomales will head out to face Point Arena at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Anderson Valley will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
