Basketball Recap: Central Hawks vs. Macon County Bulldogs
The Central Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Macon County 58-28. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.
Morgan Cochran was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds for Macon County. Cochran hasn't dropped below 22 points for three straight games. Towanna Cochran was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season. As for Macon County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6.
Central will take on the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Taylor County is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games. As for Macon County, they will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sumter County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
