Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Mcclatchy

McClatchy waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Nevada Union Miners with a sharp 12-6 win.

McClatchy got a big performance out of Anna Brereton, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that Brereton hit this season. Cali Del Mazzio was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Brereton wasn't the only one working in the hit department: McClatchy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

McClatchy's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Nevada Union, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as McClatchy Lions take on West Park Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nevada Union, they will square off against Roseville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
