Preview: Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils vs. Blue Mountain Eagles
Shenandoah Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Blue Mountain Eagles at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shenandoah Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 664th, while Blue Mountain is ranked 28th).
Last Thursday, Shenandoah Valley had to suffer through a rough 58-21 loss at the hands of North Schuylkill. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Shenandoah Valley has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Blue Mountain put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Pine Grove with a 65-59 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Shenandoah Valley bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Blue Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
Shenandoah Valley came up short against Blue Mountain in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 54-44. Can Shenandoah Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
