Baseball Recap: St. Paul Central Comes Up Short

St. Paul Central came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-1 to the Tartan Titans. The defeat continues a trend for the Minutemen in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost seven in a row.

St. Paul Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Mortellaro, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

St. Paul Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Tartan, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Paul Central will square off against Owatonna at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.75 runs per game on average), something the Minutemen will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Tartan, they will face off against Two Rivers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
