Byers extended their postseason success on Saturday against Akron. They strolled past the Akron Rams with points to spare, taking the game 67-53. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Byers' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quincy Eacret, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 23 points and three steals. Eacret has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was James Maes, who went 7-for-13 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds.

Byers was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They are 21-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

When it comes to explaining why Akron lost, don't look at Anderson Filla. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. Those 22 points gave Filla a new career-high. Jakzon Livesay was another key player, putting up nine points.

Byers' record now sits at 21-4. As for Akron, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season.

Byers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-49 loss against Plateau Valley on the 13th. Akron does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
