Basketball Recap: Guthrie Bluejays vs. Claremore Zebras
After flying high against Nathan Hale last Tuesday, Guthrie came back down to earth. The Guthrie Bluejays fell 48-37 to the Claremore Zebras on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Zebras this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-34 two weeks ago.
Claremore got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Autumn Roper out in front who went 5-for-7 to rack up 15 points. Those 15 points gave Roper a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Toney Gibson, who posted six points in addition to 11 boards and four steals.
Guthrie has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season. As for Claremore, their record is now 8-16.
