Football Game Preview: Amplus Academy Archers vs. Clark Chargers

The Amplus Academy Archers are taking a road trip to take on the Clark Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Amplus Academy didn't have too much trouble with Durango as they won 24-6. That looming 24-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Archers yet this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Clark ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past Mojave with a 31-25 victory. Clark's win was all the more impressive since the Rattlers were averaging only 11.29 points allowed on the season.

Amplus Academy better keep an eye on Taedyn Parks. She was instrumental in Clark's win, throwing for 174 yards and four touchdowns, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground. What's more, Parks also racked up 121.1 passer rating, the most she's had since January 2nd. Kaynina Afemata was in the mix too, providing Clark with two touchdowns.

Amplus Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. As for Clark, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-15.

Amplus Academy couldn't quite finish off Clark in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 14-12. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Clark's Tianna Griffith, who rushed for 100 yards on only 11 carries, and also caught one touchdown.
