Volleyball Recap: Dreher's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Dreher unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the York Cougars by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in August.

Dreher wouldn't go down easily and took York into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 17-25, 24-26, 15-10.

When it comes to explaining why Dreher lost, don't look at Isabel Smith. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and three assists. Smith has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Dreher's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for York, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Dreher will head out on the road to square off against South Pointe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for York, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
