Basketball Game Preview: Glendale Cardinals vs. Copper Canyon Aztecs

Glendale is 0-4 against Copper Canyon since December of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Glendale Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the Copper Canyon Aztecs at 7:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Glendale ended up a good deal behind Independence and lost 34-20. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Copper Canyon). They were the clear victor by a 59-37 margin over La Joya Community on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Aztecs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Copper Canyon's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-12. As for Glendale, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Glendale ended up a good deal behind Copper Canyon in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, losing 38-22. Can Glendale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
