Montwood is 8-2 against Socorro since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Montwood Rams will challenge the Socorro Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Montwood's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Eastwood 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Meanwhile, Socorro's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged Coronado out 1-0. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Socorro pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five games. As for Montwood, their win bumped their record up to 10-3-1.

Montwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Socorro in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Does Montwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Socorro turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
