Recap: Dunbar Wolverines vs. Spring Mills Cardinals
On Saturday, things could have been worse for Dunbar, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-37 loss to the Cardinals. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dunbar has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Dunbar lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eric Brewer jr. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Diezel Leeper, who scored seven points.
Dunbar has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Spring Mills, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunbar and the Golden Panthers will face off at 8:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ponitz Career Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully the Wolverines likes a good challenge. As for Spring Mills, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Washington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Cardinals are ranked first).
