Baseball Recap: Tustin Extends Winning Streak to Three

Tustin proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Calvary Chapel Eagles. The victory was familiar territory for the Tillers, who have now won three matches in a row.

Adam Whyte spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tustin's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Benally, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Dylan Benally also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Tustin's victory bumped their record up to 11-15-1. As for Calvary Chapel, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-17-1.

Coincidentally, Tustin and Calvary Chapel will both be playing Laguna Hills the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Tillers will host them at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
