Basketball Preview: Niskayuna Silver Warriors vs. Averill Park Warriors
Niskayuna is 1-6 against the Warriors since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Niskayuna Silver Warriors will be staying on the road to face off against the Averill Park Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Niskayuna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Warriors are ranked second).
On Friday, Niskayuna came up short against the Bison and fell 57-47.
Meanwhile, Averill Park put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Albany as Averill Park made off with a 66-43 win. Averill Park has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.
Niskayuna has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Averill Park, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0.
Niskayuna ended up a good deal behind the Warriors when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 46-29. Can Niskayuna avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
