Gabe Smith turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than three walks surrendered on Wednesday. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He was dominant the last time he took on Bridges Prep back in April of 2024, so they probably should've seen this coming. Smith also tossed a walk, which is notable because Coastal HomeSchool is 8-4 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-11 otherwise.

Coming up, Smith and Coastal HomeSchool will square off against Augusta E at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Eagles thanks in part to Smith: he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk).
