Softball Recap: North Sanpete Makes It Five in a Row at Home

It's playoff time, and North Sanpete had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Carbon Dinos on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Dinos back in April, they had to take a 5-1 loss.

Not much got past Shea Rawlinson, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Carbon off the board. Rawlinson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mylee Cook was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Rylee Stewart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

North Sanpete pushed their record up to 16-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Carbon, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-15.

Coming up, North Sanpete will take on Grantsville at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Carbon, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-1 win against Judge Memorial Catholic on the 3rd.
