Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Drops Season-High Score on Monrovia

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Covenant Christian). They put the hurt on the Monrovia Bulldogs with a sharp 21-5 victory on Wednesday. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Blake Cope was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Covenant Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-1 (and 6-9 when he doesn't). Henry Boyce was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Covenant Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Covenant Christian's victory bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Monrovia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-11.

Covenant Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
