Basketball Recap: Leah Rubio Key Part of Team Effort in Eagles Win

Arrowhead Christian Academy barely beat BASIS - Prescott the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 48-26 margin over the Coyote on Tuesday. The Eagles have beaten the Coyote the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Coyote has come to flipping the script.

Arrowhead Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leah Rubio, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Rubio a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alia Lind, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

Arrowhead Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Arrowhead Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Arrowhead Christian Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Flagstaff Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for BASIS - Prescott, they will square off against BASIS - Peoria at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
