Softball Game Preview: Forest City Foresters vs. Mountain View Eagles

The Forest City Foresters will head out on the road to face off against the Mountain View Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Forest City will be strutting in after a win while Mountain View will be coming in after a loss.

Forest City took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Susquehanna, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Foresters came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sabers on Wednesday, sneaking past 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Foresters.

Montrose hit Mountain View with a nine-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 19-4 to the Meteors. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Mountain View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mimi Sedlak, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Coralynn McHenry also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Forest City, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Forest City was able to grind out a solid win over Mountain View in their previous matchup back in April, winning 10-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Foresters since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
