Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes Down Tenoroc in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Liberty had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed by the Tenoroc Titans to the tune of 77-48 on Wednesday. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Liberty had a senior duo take command as Ixion Toro dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards and Felix Cortijo went 9 for 15 en route to 18 points along with seven assists and three steals. Toro's morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tasir Best, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.

Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points over those games. As for Tenoroc, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-41 loss against Bishop Moore on the 7th. Tenoroc does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
