Football Game Preview: Wantagh Warriors vs. Carey Seahawks + Official Tickets

Wantagh is a perfect 3-0 against Carey since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Sunday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Seahawks at 2:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Wantagh is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 38-14 margin over Clarke. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Luke Martini, who rushed for 283 yards and one score while picking up 15.7 yards per carry. Those 283 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Wantagh also got a significant boost from Joe Nicholson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 114 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wantagh was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 429 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carey). They claimed a resounding 36-8 win over Valley Stream South. Given the Seahawks' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Falcons are ranked 426th) , the win on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carey's record now sits at 7-2. As for Wantagh, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Wantagh strolled past Carey in their previous matchup back in October by a score of 41-23. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Seahawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
