After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hillgrove, Marietta was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Wheeler Wildcats 52-21. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Blue Devils' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marietta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Titus Grant, who rushed for 33 yards and five TDs. The Blue Devils also got help from Brody Archie, who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.

Despite the loss, Wheeler still got an impressive performance from Greg Kendrick, who rushed for 202 yards and one score. Brock Adams was another key player, picking up 88 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Marietta's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Wheeler, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Marietta wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 43-9 win against Etowah on the 19th. As for Wheeler, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 34-21 defeat against Walton on the 19th.
