Softball Recap: Lyons Takes a Loss

Lyons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 8-5 to the Smoky Valley Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 14-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Lyons saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Vargas, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Alexis Martinez was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Lyons' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Smoky Valley, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-11.

While Lyons had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
