Game recap: Fossil Ridge High School Football Team tops Haltom

KELLER, Texas - After taking the lead in the fourth quarter, Fossil Ridge (Keller, Texas) held on for a 39-20 victory over Haltom (Haltom City, Texas) on Saturday. The difference for the Panthers was Jacob Gnacinski thew a touchdown to Nathan Blankenship.

After trailing 19-7 at the half, the Buffalos went ahead on a Coby Tischler touchdown run with less than a minute remaining in the third. Fossil Ridge grabbed hold of the lead when Gnacinski thew a touchdown to Blankenship with 11:00 left in the fourth quarter, and never relinquished it.

By the end of the third, FR found itself trailing by 1 point as Haltom captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. HHS scored on a touchdown run by Dominque Eldridge and a Tischler touchdown run in the quarter.

Chaylon Bowman stood out for the Keller school in the win. The junior running back ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.



Shaqui Burden played well for the Haltom City school. The senior wide receiver ran for one touchdown.

In a 5A Region I District 4 game next week Fossil Ridge (3-5) takes on Carroll, and Haltom (2-6) will go up against Keller Central also in a 5A Region I District 4 game.
