Basketball Recap: The Webb Schools Takes a Loss

The Webb Schools lost against Capistrano Valley Christian back in February of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Webb Schools Gauls were beaten by the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles 91-46. The Gauls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-20.

Despite the loss, The Webb Schools still got an impressive performance from Josef Sharifi, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Nick Wang, who posted 15 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Capistrano Valley Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Ahern, who went 12 of 17 en route to 30 points and eight rebounds. Ahern's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Matthew Ahern was another key player, going 10 for 17 on his way to 23 points and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for The Webb Schools and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.

The Webb Schools has already played their next contest, a 69-39 victory against Avalon on the 18th. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 93-58 win against Tarbut V' Torah on the 18th.
