Basketball Game Preview: West Catholic Falcons vs. Wayland Wildcats

The West Catholic Falcons will face off against the Wayland Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

While West Catholic didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 34-27 win over Tri-Unity Christian on Monday. The 34-point effort marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wayland, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against Kelloggsville by a score of 59-50 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

West Catholic's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Wayland, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Everything came up roses for West Catholic against Wayland when the teams last played back in December of 2021, as the squad secured a 71-39 win. Will West Catholic repeat their success, or does Wayland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
