Basketball Game Preview: Elyria Pioneers vs. North Ridgeville Rangers

Elyria hasn't had much luck against North Ridgeville recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Elyria Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the North Ridgeville Rangers at 11:15 a.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Elyria is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 25th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They took a blow against Olmsted Falls, falling 70-38. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 59th).

Meanwhile, North Ridgeville didn't have quite enough to beat Avon on Wednesday and fell 44-42. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elyria's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for North Ridgeville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Elyria lost to North Ridgeville on the road by a decisive 65-51 margin when the teams last played back in February.
