Recap: Windsor Wizards vs. Silver Creek Raptors
The Windsor Wizards stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Silver Creek 84-47 at home. Winning may never get old, but Windsor sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Windsor found their leader in underclassman Madden Smiley, who scored 22 points. Smiley continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was John Backhaus, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Silver Creek still got an impressive performance from Gabe Selby, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Storz, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Windsor pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for Silver Creek, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windsor will take on Centaurus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Centaurus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Windsor is ranked 27th). As for Silver Creek, they will be playing at home against Greeley Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
