Football Game Preview: Crestview Knights vs. Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds

Crestview has won three straight games at home, while Lima Central Catholic has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Knights will host the Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. Lima Central Catholic took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Crestview, who comes in off a win.

Crestview will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any points last Friday, then bounced right back against Spencerville on Friday. The Knights snuck past the Bearcats with a 33-27 victory.

Braxton Leeth continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 238 yards and three scores while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Hayden Perrott, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Crestview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 244 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Crestview didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cash Hammons.

Meanwhile, Lima Central Catholic came up short against Columbus Grove on Friday and fell 33-25. The loss was the Thunderbirds' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lima Central Catholic fell to 8-1. As for Crestview, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
