Nas Session commands the offense for Vikings win

Recap: Hoggard Vikings vs. South Brunswick Cougars

The Hoggard Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down South Brunswick 76-61. The victory was just what Hoggard needed coming off of a 66-44 loss in their prior matchup.

Hoggard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nas Session led the charge by scoring eight points along with three steals. Jayzion Davis was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaelon Johnson, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Johnson hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ziyon Smith, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.

Hoggard's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for South Brunswick, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoggard won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ashley at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Ashley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Hoggard is ranked 137th). As for South Brunswick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully North Brunswick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
