Basketball Recap: Maize South Mavericks vs. Bryant Hornets
After flying high against Eisenhower on Tuesday, Maize South came back down to earth. The Mavericks took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bryant Hornets on Thursday.
Camarion Bead had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 55% from the field to rack up 31 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals for Bryant. Bead's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Young, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.
Maize South's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bryant, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maize South will challenge Andover Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bryant, they will square off against Benton at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
