Basketball Recap: Jackson Harrison's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Scottsdale Christian Academy over Rancho Solano Prep

After flying high against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy on Thursday, Scottsdale Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles lost 62-40 to the Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs on Friday. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 69-52 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Scottsdale Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Harrison, who posted 20 points. That was a full 50% of Scottsdale Christian Academy's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Elias Taylor also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Rancho Solano Prep had a senior duo take command as Matthew Quinlan had 25 points and seven rebounds and Ethan Stokes dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Johnson, who put up nine points and five rebounds.

Scottsdale Christian Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-8. As for Rancho Solano Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Scottsdale Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-46 victory against Camp Verde on the 28th. As for Rancho Solano Prep, they will challenge Arizona Lutheran Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arizona Lutheran Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season.
