Wallace-Rose Hill had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Clinton Dark Horses. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 last Wednesday.

Wallace-Rose Hill had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-23.

Jansley Page paced Wallace-Rose Hill's offense, picking up 21 kills. Page got some help from Mattie Gavin and her 40 assists. Finally, Kaylee Lovette and Gabby Debnam kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Despite the defeat, Clinton had strong showings from Cameron Marshburn, who had 30 digs, 12 blocks, and three aces, and Jenna Jackson, who had 13 digs and three aces. Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Arizona Tyndall was another key player, getting seven digs and three assists.

Wallace-Rose Hill's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Clinton, they suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Wallace-Rose Hill will be playing at home against Heide Trask at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Clinton, they will head out to challenge East Bladen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dark Horses are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
