Softball Recap: Connally Comes Up Short

Connally was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against the Robinson Rockets, falling 26-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 last Tuesday.

Connally saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Hancock, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Hancock brought in this season.

Connally's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Robinson, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Connally is set to face off against their familiar foe La Vega at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Robinson will square off against rival Gatesville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Robinson 2.4, Gatesville 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
