Preview: Foothills Christian Knights vs. Monarch Royals
The Foothills Christian Knights will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Monarch Royals at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th.
Last Friday, Foothills Christian came up short against El Capitan and fell 48-39.
Despite their loss, Foothills Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Edgar Gonzalez, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Gonzalez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Andrew Burke was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 18 rebounds.
Monarch has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season. They breezed by Horizon Prep on the road to the tune of 55-21. Given Monarch's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Horizon Prep is ranked 1269th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Foothills Christian to 1-3 and El Capitan to 7-1.
