Recap: Meadowcreek Mustangs vs. Norcross Blue Devils
The Meadowcreek Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Norcross. Meadowcreek has struggled against Norcross recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meadowcreek's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daron Sturdivant, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Sturdivant scored a full 25.5% of Meadowcreek's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Damari Wright, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Meadowcreek now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Norcross, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Meadowcreek will head out on the road to face off against Duluth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Norcross, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Douglass at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. Douglass presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Norcross in Georgia (Douglass is ranked 89th, while Norcross is ranked 235th).
